The school 'Falamos Português' grew out of a passion for teaching Portuguese to people of different nationalities. Whatever your native language, you can learn with us either at our school in the heart of Lisbon’s historic centre and/or online with Skype. 

Maybe you want to learn Portuguese because you now live in Portugal or because you have Portuguese friends or relatives you want to communicate with. Whatever the initial motivation, whether its for pleasure or for professional purposes it will certainly evolve to an interest and appreciation of Portuguese language, life and culture!

Generally the main requirement of students is to speak and understand Portuguese. For this reason we create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere so that everyone feels at ease to talk and learn in a natural and fun way. The lessons are focused on the needs of individual students, therefore the groups are small.

At 'Falamos Português' we understand language is a big part of culture. To know more about the history of the country we can go for a walk through the city, taking the opportunity to put into practice phrases learnt in class. Maybe you want to understand the main symbols of the culture. Fado (the traditional music of Portugal) for example, isn't always as sad as it might sound! Also very important is everyday culture! For instance, its useful to know that 'going for a coffee' probably means more than simply drinking a coffee, you can expect to spend some time chatting.
